MULTIFUNCTION PRINTERS, aka MFPs in acronym geek speak, are the modern-day equivalent of the water cooler in many offices as workers gather ’round to pick up print jobs, make copies, scan documents, and (sometimes) fax images of compressed tree pulp to faraway destinations. Though hardly new, MFPs for business are generally underappreciated workhorses that are often ignored in upgrade cycles. After all, if it still prints, copies, and scans, why bother replacing it?
Although the general functions remain the same, there can be huge differences between MFPs of today and those built just five years ago. Newer MFPs can offer ties to cloud services and other modern niceties that boost productivity, not to mention more typical improvements in speed, quality, and efficiency on both the print and scan sides of the equation.
You don’t have to show up wearing a red suit in a van pulled by reindeer, but any office running an MFP from 2010 or before might think of you as Santa Claus when you deliver any of these great MFPs.
