In theory, at least, the recent acquisition of Norwalk, Conn.-based business continuity vendor Datto Inc. by Vista Equity Partners, and merger of that company with managed services software maker Autotask Corp., of East Greenbush, N.Y., should be a worrying development for ConnectWise. During a press conference at IT Nation, however, ConnectWise CEO Arnie Bellini made clear just how little use he has for that theory.
“I don’t pay attention to the competition,” he said. “Honestly, I think paying attention to the competition is for losers...We have our own vision, we have our own path, and we’re running as fast as we can to execute on that. I don’t have time to pay attention to what the competition is doing.”
And when he does pay attention to competitors, Bellini continued, “I always see in them in the rear-view mirror, and I always see them chasing us.”
