Sapphire Pure Platinum A75 Motherboard Review

This board looks pretty good actually. It comes with plenty of connection options and will appeal to those that want to use this for a home office or home theater pc. It is a standard ATX board but it’s small enough to fit into any mid-tower case that you’d want to use. By Motherboards.org

This is the new Sapphire Pure Platinum A75 motherboard that we’ll be looking at today. Sapphire is a company that has been in this business for a while now and their products have proven to be of some of the highest quality in the industry. To start off with let’s have a look at the chipset that this board uses and go over some of its features.

With the A75 the first thing you have to know is that these don’t use your standard processors. These support the FM1 socket APU processors. AMD APU processors feature embedded graphics that are very similar to Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors. The A8-3800 processors come with AMD HD 6500 series graphics. One of the nicest things about this feature is that it can save you money on not having to purchase a discrete graphics solution.

These new processors aren’t the Bulldozer powerhouses that will be coming out later but they are fairly decent quad-cores with reasonable price tags. The question you have to ask yourself when purchasing this type of a solution is: What are you planning to use it for? If this is going to be the basis for your new high-end gaming rig then you might want to consider a different product. These are prefect though for the home theater pc or home office platform. With the embedded graphics from the processor, and the features of these boards, you will get full HD support as well as display port connectivity. These chipsets also support DDR3 memory up to 16 gigs and 1600 MHz. They also support feature support for USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0 peripheral and storage options. With these features being fully supported it will give the user the full range of options that they would desire from this type of platform.
