NVIDIA today are launching their latest, mid-range video card. This is the GTX 550 Ti. And today we are having a look at the Gigabyte version of this card. This card is set to replace one of the Green Team's hottest selling cards, the GTS 450. NVIDIA’s reference card is clocked higher, and it has a wider 192-bit memory interface. This allows the card to provide a 28% boost in average performance, with a 20% performance increase per watt. This card also incorporates the same transistor-level changes that can be found in all the GTX 500 series cards. This card also features a full gig of video memory, standard. Just like its predecessors, the GTS 450, and GTS 250. Now that we have discussed what the reference design brings to the table, let’s have a look at the specifics of this new card from Gigabyte. This card is set to compete with the AMD 5770 video card. It will be interesting to see if the new features actually pan out to provide better performance.
