Toshiba Adds New 2-in-1 Detachable Laptop to Portfolio of Innovative Business Computing Solutions

New Portégé X30T Combines Mobility of Premium Tablet with Performance of Thin & Light Laptop to Create a Modern PC

Toshiba’s Client Solutions Division (CSD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., has announced the organization’s new 2-in-1 detachable laptop, the Portégé†X30T. Toshiba’s latest premium computing solution incorporates 8th†Generation Intel†Core U-Series Quad Core Processors, Windows†10 Pro, large solid-state drive capacities and advanced security elements required to succeed in boardrooms, classrooms or on the road. Toshiba will begin shipping the Portégé X30T in October with a starting price point of $1,549.99.

“We are excited about the collection of features and technologies available on the Portégé†X30T and are confident it will become the premium solution in its category,” said Carl Pinto, vice president, marketing and engineering, Client Solutions Division, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. “With the Portégé†X30T, we have engineered a modern, powerful and reliable multiple purpose PC capable of handling the rigors of any computing environment.”

Designed for sleek laptops and 2-in-1s, the new 8th†Generation Intel Core U-Series Quad Core processor will give mobile users the full performance needed to work, create and manage their day. As a Windows 10 Pro solution, the Portégé†X30T maximizes the innovations of Microsoft’s impressive operating system and advanced features such as encryption, remote log-in, and virtual machine creation as well as Cortana, Windows Hello, and Microsoft Edge.

Measuring 0.87 inches thin and weighing just 1.76 pounds when detached, the Portégé X30T combines the mobility of a premium tablet and the performance of a thin and light laptop all in a single detachable design with up to 14 hours of battery life when combined with the standard keyboard. In tablet mode, users can expect up to 8 hours of battery life. Toshiba designed the Portege X30T with a built-in kickstand to provide a multitude of viewing angles in either tablet or laptop mode.

To achieve this battery life, Toshiba engineers designed the standard keyboard of the Portégé X30T to include a second battery to extend the overall computing life of the innovative detachable 2-in-1. For long-lasting battery life, the Portégé X30T utilizes Toshiba’s Smart Charging Technology, which prioritizes the charging and discharging of the battery to ensure the primary battery is always charged first and consumed last.

As a modern PC, digital inking is critical and the Portégé X30T is the company’s latest example of this commitment. Featuring a specially textured 13.3-inch, high-resolution, antiglare, 10-finger multi-touch display, Windows Ink, and Wacom digitizer pen, the Portégé†X30T delivers the company’s most natural pen-on-paper writing experience to date. With a pen capable of detecting 4,096 levels of pressure, the Portégé X30T is perfect for taking notes, drawing, capturing signatures, completing forms and more.

Toshiba equipped the new 2-in-1 detachable laptop with a collection of enterprise-grade biometric, system-level and physical security measures—such as Face Authentication, Fingerprint Reader, Trusted Platform Module, Device Guard, Smart Card, Credential Guard, Intel Authentication, Security Lock Slot solutions as well as Toshiba’s own proprietary BIOS. These features make the Portégé†X30T the easy choice for any organization with an emphasis on security.

Toshiba designs, engineers, manufactures and rigorously tests all of its computing solutions, including the Portégé†X30T, in Toshiba-owned facilities to deliver the quality and reliability synonymous with the Toshiba brand for the past 30 years. To further separate itself from the competition, the Portégé†X30T underwent testing based on the MIL-STD-810G methodology to demonstrate the products durability and reliability. Featuring a sturdy and elegant Onyx Blue premium magnesium alloy casing, the new detachable 2-in-1 laptop withstood extreme temperature, vibration, shock, humidity, altitude, drop and dust testing. Toshiba also includes a three-year standard limited warranty to promote long-term peace of mind for the PortégéX30T.

Whether on a plane, a dark lecture hall or a poorly lit room, both the standard and optional travel keyboards are full-size, backlit and include a multi-touch ClickPad allowing users to remain productive. The standard keyboard is spill-resistantand features a comprehensive collection of ports, including two USB 3.0, VGA, HDMI, and Ethernet. For users looking for the ultimate in on-the-go computing, Toshiba developed the optional travel keyboard to incorporate a lightweight design and magnetic connectors to easily attach and detach from the display and still deliver a true laptop computing experience.

For users that need to connect more desktop peripherals, the Portégé†X30T is compatible with Toshiba’s advanced docking solutions– the dynadock†U3.0 Universal USB 3.0 and dynadock 4K Universal USB 3.0 docking stations. These docking options are designed to expand the overall productivity of Toshiba’s new 2-in-1 detachable laptop through a single connection.
