Pelco Adds an HD Option to Its Physical Security Lineup

The Spectra High-Definition 1080 dome positioning system is built on the Sarix technology platform, delivering 2.0 megapixel resolution, high-profile H.264 compression, and built-in analytics.

SMBs in need of physical security and monitoring solutions picked up an HD option this month as Schneider Electric announced the release of its Pelco by Schneider Electric Spectra High-Definition 1080 dome positioning system.

The Spectra line has been a cornerstone of Schneider’s physical security options. It is designed to deliver reliability, drive/control technology, and image quality. The latest HD offering features a clearer image, with stronger resolution without sacrificing low-light or programmable performance.

Pelco’s Spectra HD 1080 is built on the Sarix technology platform. It is an all-digital system that delivers 2.0 megapixel resolution, high-profile H.264 compression, and built-in analytics.
Features of the new Spectra HD 1080 system include:

  • Image Quality – The Spectra HD 1080 delivers clear images, at a 2.0 megapixel resolution (1920×1080 at 30IPS), with its 1/2.8-inch Exmor CMOS imager with an integrated 20x optical zoom lens,
  • Sarix Technology – Built on the Sarix technology platform, the Spectra HD 1080 system features a dual-processor design for streams and High-Profile H.264 for the more efficient compression.
  • Solid Pendant Design – Spectra HD 1080’s solid pendant design eliminates the subtle vibrations that can occur in demanding installations, ensuring a better image. The optically perfect dome delivers flawless image quality over the entire viewing range of the system.
  • Built-In Analytics – The Spectra HD 1080 system comes with a suite of advanced analytics built into the camera system, including Object Tracking, which enables users to define the size of the object of interest and track the subject through the full 360-degree rotation of the camera. Other analytics tools included are Abandoned Object, Adaptive Motion, Camera Sabotage, Directional Motion, Loitering Detection, Object Counting, Object Removal, and Stopped Vehicle.

“We understand that there is nothing more important to our customers than image quality,” says Todd Dunning, Schneider Electric’s director of product management, “and Spectra HD 1080 delivers the clearest possible images.”

The Spectra HD 1080 is available in indoor and outdoor models. Schneider Electric is now taking orders for Spectra HD 1080 and will begin shipping on Jan. 18.
