NSFOCUS Inc., a global provider of solutions for distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) detection and mitigation, has announced a partnership with Black Lotus, which delivers DDoS mitigation to service providers and enterprises, to deploy scrubbing centers that will ultimately furnish to its service provider customers an additional 1,000 Gbps of DDoS mitigation capacity, well in excess of the largest known attacks weighing in at more than 300 Gbps.
Starting with the Black Lotus location at Ashburn, Va., as the first point of presence, NSFOCUS will deploy several hundred gigabits of capacity to each site, providing an additional safety net to NSFOCUS Anti-DDoS System (ADS) customers to defend against the world’s largest attacks. Many service providers that use the ADS for DDoS mitigation previously provided service only to SMBs. Now these companies will be able to open new lines of business with enterprises that require more expansive protection and infrastructure redundancy.
NSFOCUS’ plan to open scrubbing centers for its service provider customers in North America completes the company’s three-tiered anti-DDoS model. At the first tier, NSFOCUS delivers on-premises ADS2000 and ADS4000 series appliance-based solutions, which protect latency-sensitive end users from application layer attacks that are frequent, relatively small in size, and short in duration. At the second tier, NSFOCUS provides anti-DDoS capability to service provider partners via its ADS6020 and Managed Security Service (MSS) offering. Now, in partnership with Black Lotus in North America for its first launch, NSFOCUS delivers end-to-end protection through globally deployed scrubbing centers, which can mitigate attacks more than three times bigger than the largest known attack to date.
