At the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Lenovo unveiled a number of new products designed to meet the needs of consumers whether at home, in the office, or on the go. The lineup of new devices included upgrades to the ThinkPad X1 family, Miix 720 Windows detachable with Lenovo Active Pen 2, and Lenovo Legion gaming laptops.

The ThinkPad X1 Family

The latest generation of ThinkPad X1 products are designed to embrace the needs of the evolving consumer, who now blurs the line between work and personal PC use.

The 2017 ThinkPad X1 Carbon, available in classic ThinkPad Black and a new silver color, is a business notebook weighing just 2.5 pounds and fits a high-quality 14-inch IPS display into a typcial 13-inch form factor. Now offering up to 15 hours of battery life for extended time away, the X1 Carbon has been redesigned to include Thunderbolt 3 ports, LTE-A Wireless WAN, and WIFI CERTIFIED WiGig options. A fingerprint sensor with a dedicated chip that handles biometric processing helps secure and simplify the Windows Hello logon experience with a new face recognition infrared camera

Also available in the new metallic silver, the updated ThinkPad X1 Yoga features:

  • A 14-inch OLED notebook display.
  • Intel Iris Graphics with dedicated high bandwidth, high speed memory delivering performance.
  • A redesigned rechargeable pen for a natural writing experience.
  • An improved “rise and fall” keyboard that retracts fully flat in tablet mode offering greater stability and user comfort.

Alongside the X1Yoga, the new upgrades to the ThinkPad X1 Tablet include port expansion and up to 5 hours of additional battery life, as well as an integrated projector option making it easier to go from creation to presentation.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon starts at $1,349, while the ThinkPad X1 Yoga starts at $1,499. Both devices will be available in February. ThinkPad X1 Tablet, priced at $949, is expected to be released in March.

The Miix 720 Windows Detachable

The Miix 720 Windows detachable combines a 12-inch QHD+ display and precision touchpad-enabled keyboard with up to 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and Thunderbolt 3. When it’s time to hit the road—or your next meeting—you can remove the keyboard to transform the device into a touchscreen tablet. Paired with a multifaceted Lenovo Active Pen 2, the Miix 720 is ideal for note taking or bringing creative concepts to life.

The integrated infrared camera with Windows Hello facial recognition allows users to settle in for an evening binge-watch session of your favorite show – all without the hassle of having to recall or re-type your password.

Priced at $999.99, the Miix 720 (keyboard included) is available in two color options Champagne and Iron Gray beginning in April 2017.

Lenovo Legion

Lenovo has also launched a new gaming sub-brand, Lenovo Legion, which includes two new laptops — the Lenovo Legion Y720 and Lenovo Legion Y520.

The gaming laptops are designed for mainstream and enthusiast players and boast state-of-the-art technology to allow them to fully immerse in the game. The new PCs offer a greater gaming experience—powering VR through the latest NVIDIA graphics, better sound with Dolby Atmos, and increased performance with the latest 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor.
