Hostway Introduces Turnkey Cloud Solution for Smaller Resellers

The joint Hostway/Parallels solution delivers private-labeled managed cloud to VARs, MSPs, and integrators.

Cloud hosting provider Hostway Corporation has introduced a hosted IaaS program that enables smaller resellers to sell, provision, bill, and manage their own private-labeled cloud with no internal infrastructure, easy Web store development, and nominal upfront costs, according to Hostway. Companies retain control over branding, pricing, and the customer experience from onboarding through support.

The new reseller platform integrates Hostway’s FlexCloud Servers public cloud hosting service with Hostway-hosted Parallels Automation software for delivering and managing cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service. The program is open to any reseller inside or outside the Parallels ecosystem, allowing small and midsize VARs, MSPs, and IT consultants to participate with no investment except SSL certificate and domain registration.

The package includes a brandable reseller storefront, provided through the Parallels Automation interface, for self-serve provisioning of compute, memory, and storage. Other benefits include on-demand scalability and pay-as-you-go wholesale rates provided by the FlexCloud Servers platform, customizable retail pricing, managed as well as self-serve provisioning options, and a tiered discount structure that increases resellers’ discount as sales rise. Resellers can seamlessly bundle their software applications, professional services, or managed service offerings with the cloud solution.

The new platform—announced at the Parallels Summit 2014 that opened yesterday in New Orleans—expands a syndicated Hostway/Parallels public cloud reseller program introduced last year for larger service providers who have deployed Parallels Automation software in-house.

With these capabilities:

  • VARs can easily resell subscription-based cloud IaaS services under their own brand without building infrastructure or handing customers off to third-party providers who will invoice those customers directly. All operations functions are accessible from the Parallels reseller control panel, including sales quota setup and tracking.
  • SaaS providers can quickly spin up a new cloud instance for every new client and add their own application stack on top of Hostway’s cloud infrastructure. The Parallels software enables bundled pricing and billing as well as monitoring of all aspects of customer usage.
  • MSPs can easily integrate and automate provisioning of cloud services to complement their managed offers and generate new revenue streams, supporting their efforts to compete with cloud service providers without requiring any capital investment.

Initially, the new platform will enable resellers to market public-cloud IaaS services using Hostway’s FlexCloud Servers hosting service. Future additions will include the Open-Xchange App Suite for unified email and collaboration, domain name registration, and general website hosting.

Hostway is conducting demos of its hosted reseller platform at Booth #613 at the Parallels Summit. For more information, visit www.hostway.com.
