Energy University Expands Curriculum

The Schneider Electric training program broadens to reflect “the overall environment” for data center engineers, techs, and service providers.

Schneider Electric and its subsidiary American Power Conversion (APC) announced the expansion of Energy University last week.
Energy University Expands Curriculum

The expansion of Energy University (EU) includes a broadened curriculum, additional language options, and newly available education credits.

A total of 21 new courses have been added to the EU lineup this year, bringing the offering to 34 classes. †According to APC’s vice president of marketing Marc Sherman, the lineup changed in order to better prepare the company’s partners for the channel. “The programs have changed because we realized partners have to be very competent in looking at the overall environment.”

Among the new courses are:

  • “Demand Response and the Smart Grid”
  • “Measuring and Benchmarking Energy Performance”
  • “Energy Efficiency Units and Concepts”
  • “Combined Heat and Power”
  • “Financing and Performance Contracting for Energy Efficient Projects”
  • “Energy Audits Instrumentation”

The classes are available on-demand at www.MyEnergyUniversity.com.

Since EU’s inception in June 2009, 21,000 registered users have taken courses. Sherman sees this expansion as a result of tech’s ever-increasing convergence. “As tech has become more important,” he says,” our category has done a lot to keep up with those needs.”

Energy University has seen more than 21,000 registered users since its inception in June 2009. Its courses have been submitted for approval to specific professional associations and organizations that review such content. Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership, U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), and IEEE have either assigned credits to or approved of EU’s program as applicable in fulfilling continuing education credit requirements.

Energy University is an Energy Efficiency Coalition partner, a USBGC Education Provider, and a member of the Education Partner Program of the IEEE.
