Axcient Launches Trade-Up Program for Fusion Cloud Infrastructure Solution

Members of the company’s partner program who migrate clients from appliance-based legacy Axcient systems to the cloud-based Fusion can now receive up to a 100 percent credit.

Mountain View, Calif.-based Axcient Inc. has launched a trade-up program that enables its channel partners to transition clients from physical and virtual appliance-based legacy editions of the company’s disaster-recovery-as-a-service solution to the newer appliance-less Fusion disaster recovery and workload consolidation service.

Starting today, members of the Axcient Continuity Partner Program who move existing customers onto Fusion can receive up to a 100 percent trade-up credit based on environment size, retention requirements, and recovery time objectives. The offer has no expiration date at present.

“Axcient is and always has been a channel-focused company,” said Justin Moore, Axcient’s CEO, in a press statement. “This new trade-up promotion showcases Axcient’s commitment to enable our partners to deliver better service for their clients with best-of-breed data protection and disaster recovery solutions at an attractive price-point.”

Launched in June, Fusion is a cloud-based repository for non-production workloads, including not only disaster recovery but backup, archiving, testing, and development, among others. Many of those solutions contain the same data, and Axcient says businesses that consolidate it all in Fusion can reduce their non-production IT costs by over 80 percent.

With its WAN-optimized architecture, the company adds, Fusion also eliminates the need for local DRaaS appliances, enabling partners to deploy, manage, and scale services at their clients’ locations more easily.

“A large part of the clients we service already have redundancy and continuity built into their primary data centers, which greatly diminishes the value of DRaaS solutions that require an onsite appliance,” said Ryan Lakin, president of Houston, Texas-based MSP IronEdge Group Ltd., in Axcient’s press release. “With Axcient’s new transition path to Fusion, we can seamlessly move our clients onto an entirely cloud-based disaster recovery service that scales and performs at levels well above every other DRaaS offering on the market.”

In addition to the Fusion trade-up program, Axcient has rolled out new partner sales and marketing tools and collateral as well, along with a new Axcient Certified Expert training curriculum aimed at helping resellers market, sell, and support Fusion. Those resources are available now on Axcient’s Partner Portal.

Axcient added workflow automation and cloud orchestration capabilities to Fusion in August and support for virtual machines running Linux in November.
