Ready to wave your hands in the air like you don’t care? Well, you should care. If you have an ASUS, that sort of motion may do weird and wonderful things to your PC.

ASUS just announced a partnership with Leap Motion to bundle the company’s pint-sized Leap Motion Controller with select new computers. If all goes well, ASUS expects to include that 3D motion-control technology with some of its notebooks and premium All-in-One (AiO) PCs later this year.

The Leap Motion Controller will work with Windows Vista, 7, and 8, as well as Mac OS X. Just hook the device to a USB port and it will track hand movements up to 1/100th millimeter. With no visible lag time, the Leap Motion Controller boasts a 150-degree field of view and can follow individual hands and all 10 fingers at up to 290 frames per second.

“Our commitment to innovation and exceptional quality drive us to provide the best technology to our consumers,” says Alber Wu, desktop division senior director at ASUSTek. “Leap Motion has developed an exciting technology that will truly enhance the experience our customers have with their ASUS devices, opening a world of opportunity for personal use and business, from entertainment to architecture to education. We’re proud to be one of the first companies to partner with Leap Motion.”

In case you can’t wait for ASUS, know that you will be able purchase the Leap Motion Controller separately — at some point. Leap Motion plans to ship the product early this year. The company is currently taking pre-orders for $69.99.
