Intel acquired McAfee with the goal of offering security solutions that combine the best of Intel's hardware approach with McAfee's software expertise in security. Intel, known for devising excellent channel programs and opportunities is on track to announce a renewal revenue share program that promises to deliver an annuity to distributors and resellers that sell Intel processors with McAfee security software.
The main idea is that when a customer renews a product via a download, both the distributor and reseller involved in the initial sale will automatically receive a portion of the revenue. This program applies to annual renewals each year for up to at least two years after the initial sale. For distributors and resellers, this means they can earn recurring revenue over the next two years for products that they sell today. While the official launch of the program will occur later this year, Intel will honor all sales made by distributors and resellers today. And unlike many other programs in the market, Intel's renewal revenue share program is not reserved exclusively for large channel players. Any size distributor and reseller can participate in the program.
