Managed business services innovator Whaleback Systems, has extended unified communications mobility within its CrystalBlue cloud-based managed voice services to tablets and smartphones. This extension leverages the Bria 3 softphone from CounterPath Corp., provider of desktop and mobile VoIP software products and solutions.
Bria 3 is a carrier-grade softphone application that enables users to manage communications from a computer desktop. Replacing or complementing a hard phone, the Bria softphone enables the placement of VoIP and Video calls over IP, view the availability of contacts, and send IM and transfer files.
Whaleback’s CrystalBlue Cloud-based Managed Voice Services deliver unified communications SMBs by integrating voice, messaging, conferencing, and contact centers into a single service.
With the integration of Bria 3, Whaleback’s CrystalBlue customers can use tablets, smartphones, and laptops to conduct business from any locale. For example, SMBs will be able to:
- Send and receive calls from anywhere in the office.
- Return calls while on the road or away from the office using their office callerID.
- Avoid international cell phone fees, using free WiFi where available.
“We continue to reap the rewards of our long-standing partnership with CounterPath,” says Whaleback president and CEO Karil Reibold, “adding new mobility that makes business communications for our customers simpler and more convenient.”
Reibold adds, “Bria 3’s ability to operate on any tablet, smartphone, or laptop will enable CrystalBlue customers to gain maximum productivity, enabling a workforce that is more mobile, dynamic, and able to connect wherever they.”
Whaleback’s extended unified communications mobility features will be available in Q2 2012.
