Version 4.0 of Kofax Transformation Modules Now Available

New release combines transformation technologies into a single offering for more robust solutions that are easier to deploy and maintain.

Irvine, Calif.-based Kofax plc, a provider of capture and exchange solutions for document-driven businesses, has released Kofax Transformation Modules, which automate the classification, sorting, and separation of paper and electronic documents, and then extract and validate the accuracy of the information they contain. Combining all Kofax transformation technologies into one platform, Version 4.0 offers new features and enhancements that, according to the company, “significantly increase ease-of-use and application flexibility.”

“Kofax Transformation Modules 4.0 reflects our continuing commitment to further strengthen our transactional capture solutions,” says Jim Nicol, executive vice president of products at Kofax. “We continue to invest heavily in document classification and extraction to ensure that our customers have access to the best, most advanced technology available in the market today.”

“This new release is consistent with that goal,” he adds. “In this challenging economy, organizations are refocusing their investments on solutions that generate a rapid and demonstrated return-on-investment. Kofax Transformation Modules 4.0 effectively addresses this need.”

Version 4.0 integrates Kofax’s Xtrata Pro and INDICIUS technologies into a unified platform with added capabilities, such as the ability to process structured and unstructured forms and documents of any type. Benefits include cost savings, accelerated deployments, and less costly maintenance, says Kofax, and provides more cost-effective applications with shorter ROIs. Xtrata Pro and INDICIUS will remain a part of Kofax’s offerings, and the company will continue to maintain them.

Other features include a “learn-by-example” technology that automates the classification and extraction of information from any form or document type. By feeding sample forms or documents into the system, customers can “train” the software to recognize the form or document type and the specific location of business critical information contained therein. “Document Review” enables users to verify the results of data classification and separation prior to extraction to increase extraction rates and overall throughput rates, and an enhanced “Verification” capability allows data to be double-checked after validation to increase data accuracy while reducing downstream processing exceptions and delays.
