From Tape to Disk: Trade-In, Trade-Up Promo from i365

Customers that swap out their backup tape systems for one of the company’s disk-based solutions see immediate savings, plus discounts on data migration and erasure services.

i365, Inc., A Seagate Company, is making it easy for new customers to swap their old backup tape systems for a disk-based solution. The company introduced its new “Trade-In, Trade-Up” promotion, allowing new customers to swap out their backup tape systems for i365 EVault data protection solutions at a discount. i365 is also providing additional discounts on data migration and erasure services. According to the company, by moving from tape, companies will reduce operating costs and save time with an automated, secure, reliable and easy to use data protection solution.

The promotion offers new customers discounts based on the deployment strategy that is right for their business. New customers looking to move to software from tape-based solutions receive a $2,500 credit for every $25,000 spent on EVault solutions. If an online backup solution is preferred, new customers can receive a $1,000 credit for the first $10,000 spent on EVault SaaS and a $500 credit for each additional $5,000 purchased. The promotion also applies to all plug-ins, add-on products, personalized training, and i365 ProServ Professional Services.

To make it even easier to move off of tape, i365 is offering new customers an additional 10 percent discount on its data migration and erasure services that provide secure disposal of IT equipment. As part of the program’s support, i365 provides contact information for companies that will purchase old tape systems, encouraging companies to recycle and minimize waste.

“The ‘Trade-in, Trade-Up’ program was developed with the customer in mind,” says Carolyn Crandall, senior vice president, worldwide marketing for i365, A Seagate Company. “In this tough economic climate, companies are looking for smart ways to reduce costs while improving service levels. With i365 EVault Data Protection, companies can save time and money by choosing either a service, on-premise, or completely managed solution. All disk-based solutions eliminate the risk of losing critical data and provide options for tiered recovery, eliminating countless hours previously spent waiting to restore information from tape.”

The promotion is effective in the U.S. and Canada through June 30, 2009. For additional information, visit www.i365.com.
